Serving the Boulder community, and its surrounding area, since 2009

Learning Solutions for Dyslexia recognizes and respects the unique learning needs of those with Dyslexia.

Dyslexia is an inherited condition that makes it very difficult to read, write, and spell. Some individuals may also have difficulty with math. All in spite of average, or above average, intelligence, and often many creative gifts.

People with Dyslexia learn differently, and need to receive the right kind of tutoring. We celebrate diversity and strive to instill integrity, compassion and confidence in each individual.

We give each student support and encouragement to become his or her own unique self.

 READING AND SPELLING

One-on-one tutoring is provided using an Orton-Gillingham based program.

Orton Gillingham is a researched-based methodology that is the only proven system

to be successful for improving reading, writing, and spelling skills for individuals with Dyslexia.

It is a phonics based learning system that is simultaneously multi-sensory, structured, explicit, and systematic. Within each tutoring session, comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary skills are woven throughout.

  • Tutoring sessions are scheduled 2 or more times a week. More sessions result in faster progress.
  • Noticeable progress will be shown after 24 sessions, on average. Steady improvement will continue with consistent tutoring.
  • Remote Tutoring is available

MATH

We utilize a concrete, multi-sensory approach to teaching basic math operations.

We incorporate science and research based Montessori materials, and methods. As well as, the Math U See curriculum.

We focus on learning the four basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Also, number sense, fractions, money, and time. Thus, aiding in creating a strong foundation from which to grow.
